Frequently asked questions
What happens after I book?
Once you book a consultation, you’ll be sent an intake form to get the details of your space, gear, goals, and budget. That lets me prep before we talk, so the first call is productive. From there, we map the plan and set the schedule.
Will I need to sign anything?
Yes. Every job gets a simple service agreement laying out what we’re doing, how much it costs, and what’s expected on both sides. It protects both of us and keeps things clean. No surprise charges, no scope creep, no misunderstandings.
How soon can you start?
Depends on the scope. Small jobs can often be booked within a few days. Larger builds or anything requiring equipment sourcing will need more lead time. I’ll always give you a clear timeline before we begin.
How long does a typical install or setup take?
Depends on complexity. A simple gaming setup might take a couple of hours. A full streaming or sim rig build can take 4–8 hours over one or two visits (or more). Custom audio or AV installs vary. I’ll give you an estimate after the intake form or consult call.
Do I need to buy all the gear before hiring you?
Not necessarily. If you’ve already got stuff, I’ll make it work. If you need help picking or ordering the right gear, I offer a flat-fee service to source it for you. I can also install and configure once it arrives—or bring it with me if we've pre-arranged it.
What if I only need part of a setup, like just mounting monitors or dialing in my mic chain?
Perfect, that’s what the à la carte menu is for. You don’t need to buy a full package if all you need is one piece of the puzzle. We can book small jobs by the hour or do flat-rate work where it makes sense.
Can I change my mind mid-project or add stuff on the fly?
Within reason, yes. Just know that changes might affect the cost or timeline. If we’re halfway through and you suddenly want to upgrade your desk, add a mic arm, or mount a second screen—I’ll adjust, but I’ll also tell you exactly what that’ll mean for the scope and cost. No surprises.
Can you help me remotely if I don’t live in Austin?
Absolutely. I offer remote consultations, OBS/audio setup, and general tech support via video call. I’ve helped people get fully dialed in across the country. As long as your internet is up to the task, we’re good to go.
What if I have a weird request, like a 3D-printed mic mount or setting up gear in a tight space?
Bring it on. I do custom mounting and hardware work when off-the-shelf options don’t cut it. If it’s within reason and I have the tools to solve it, I will. If I don’t, I’ll let you know and try to find a solution.
How does payment work?
For most jobs over $300, I require a deposit to lock in your slot. Final payment is due at completion unless otherwise agreed.
What’s your policy on deposits and cancellations?
I require a deposit for any scheduled job over $300. Cancellations within 24 hours may forfeit the deposit depending on the situation.
